Grant

« The Board of the Belgian Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy decided to attribute an annual research grant, intended to reward a project presented and defended by young Belgian endoscopists, or working in Belgium .

The regulation for grant application is clarified in the following document. The Board of the BSGIE determined its amount to be 5000 euro. The prize-winners will be proclaimed during the next annual meeting of the BSGIE, which will take place in Gembloux, January 26th, 2008

Article 1 . The BSGIE grant aims at rewarding the best research project in the field of gastrointestinal diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopy .

Article 2 . The grant will be awarded annually. The Board of the BSGIE determines its amount. It will be announced at the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology.

Article 3 . The applicants must be Belgian citizens or residents, and their research must be performed in Belgium . They must be 40 year or less at submission of their project.

Article 4 . The project must be addressed to the Secretary of the BSGIE before November 1, together wit a curriculum vitae of the main applicant.

Article 5 . The grant may not be awarded to a project already awarded by another grant.

Article 6 . The grant will be given at the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology, half of its amount immediately, the other half at completion and presentation of the rewarded research project.

Article 7 . The project should be written in English, with a summary in Dutch, English and French. It must precise the aim, material and methods, and 2 to 3 pages of comments underlining the potential impact of the research.

Article 8 . The grant may not be divided, but it may reward a teamwork. It will be given to the main investigator, with written consent of the co-investigators.

Article 9 . The Jury consists in the Board of the BSGIE. The grant may not be attributed if the jury estimates that no candidate is eligible
